Featuring: Chef Russell Goodman and Chef Patrick Ayres

Join us for an engaging hands on pasta making class with Chefs Russell Goodman and Patrick Ayres in the cozy kitchen of Elkstone Farm. Learn the art of pasta making using traditional tools from Italy that Chef Russell has acquired over the years. Guests will make a number of different pastas, a few sauces, and a protein.  Following class everyone will enjoy the pasta they have just made accompanied by salad, dessert and wine pairings from Attimo Wines.

Wines of the Rockies: Colorado Wine Seminar

With its warm valleys and plateaus, mountain cascades,  over 300 days of sunshine annually, low humidity and cool nights, Colorado offers ideal conditions for growing wine grapes.  While the Rocky Mountain State’s wine history seems young, mostly due to prohibition, which led to many vineyards—some established as early as the 18th century—being replaced by orchards, Colorado’s wine region saw a resurgence in the 1970’s.  Known for some of the best fruit in North America—apples, cherries, peaches, pears and plums—Colorado’s grapes are second to none.  Taste some of the state’s premiere Carboy wines side-by-side with wines of other well known growing regions, and uncork a new-found love and deep appreciation for Colorado wines.

Climb aboard a gondola and ride to Thunderhead Lodge at the top of the mountain and set off on a 1 mile, 700’ elevation gain hike to the stunning Four Points Lodge. After the hike to Four Points, you’ll arrive at this breathtaking location, ready to indulge in a delicious European Style lunch and wine pairing from J.Dirt Wines. Located at 9,716 feet up on Storm Peak, enjoy lunch while soaking in the breathtaking scenery and the camaraderie of fellow hikers.

Hiking to this event is required of all attendees. Guests have the option to shuttle back down after lunch.

Terroir to Table Dinner presented by The Amble

Elkstone Farm embodies our ethos at Steamboat Food & Wine Festival to its core.  A farm in the middle of a mountain oasis that is facing climate change head-on by focusing on regenerative farming and land management practices. Inspired by its home in Strawberry Park, Elkstone Farm is a working farm with a farm stand, year round greenhouse, and abundant selection of homemade pantry goods. Chef Russell Goodman has the amazing fortune to cook at Elkstone Farm full time and will host  2024 James Beard Award Winner Chef Matt Vawter.  Wines for the dinner will be paired by Scott Thomas from Grappolo Food and Wine School. An engaging wine professional, Scott is one of only 18 Italian Wine Experts globally.  This intimate event will start with a tour of the farm prior to dining al fresco in this divine location. The Tables that Connect Us

Steamboat Food and Wine Festival’s longest running event, this Alpine Mountain Ranch dinner is entering its  seventh year.  Chefs Jose Salazar, Dana Rodriguez and Justin Fulton had so much fun cooking together at this same venue in 2024, they asked to come back in 2025! They’ll be joined by festival newcomer Chef Mutsuko Soma, a 2022 James Beard Nominee and 2019 Food & Wine Best New Chef.  Throughout the evening, guests will be treated to an immersive dining experience that goes beyond the plate, with each chef sharing their inspirations and personal stories behind each dish. Enjoy delicious hand selected wines from Carboy and delightful sips from Tin Cup & Reserva De La Familia while enjoying every moment of your night, infused with passion and creativity.

There’s a rich history, including the Light Temple Family—F.M LIght in town—to “Storm Mountain Ski Area,” which we know today at Steamboat Ski Resort.  Chefs Hrant Arakelian, Lon Symensma, and Francesco Allegro will collaborate in a breathtaking mountain backdrop setting where creativity flourishes, and each course tells its own story, paired with wines from Facets Gemstone Vineyard.
